Leader Optec is renowned for it's quality, innovation and commitment to detail. Our internal testing procedures start with the quality of components we obtain, which are all sourced from highly reputable and consistent suppliers from all around the world.

Following on from this, each and every one of our manufactured patchcords, pigtails, cable assemblies and specialist terminations is 100% tested to meet the specified Insertion Loss and Back Reflection Loss criteria in compliance with IEC 61300, EIA/TIA-568-B for measuring multimode cable assemblies.

In the case of singlemode cable assemblies, further tests are conducted to comply with the IEC specifications for connector end face geometry requirements, including apex offset, radius of curvature (ROC) and fibre undercut/protrusion, using industry standard interferometric test equipment and methods. These test are conducted using the DORC interferometer.

In addition to these standard tests, we also test in accordance with customer specific requirements, where particular criteria which is sensitive to a customer's needs is required. These are usually tighter and/or additional parameters not usually called for in current industry standards.

In addition to our internal tests, we can also arrange for third party testing of various environmental and mechanical criteria. Such testing might be needed for approvals and supply purposes. In these cases, we use independant industry approved test houses, assessed to nationally and internationally recognised standards.
