In recent times Leader Optec has increased its presence in the supply chain
for data and telecommunication products. In particular, for the Customer
looking for short lead times for products that are not “specials” but differ
in colour, length, quantity, labelling or for the more technical ‘end face
geometry’ of a particular connector.
Most products are ex-stock or
manufactured to order in our purpose
built UK fibre termination house.
The Company has now opened a
stand-alone Copper Termination
House. It is manned by experienced
engineers able to offer advice, design,
build and supply an extensive range
of assemblies including LAN Cat 5e
and Cat6, electrical IEC leads, RF
and coaxial patch cords, soldered
and crimped D-Type assemblies
and much more. Other standard
product includes boxes of Cat 5e
and Cat 6 cables, data outlets and
panels.
The building doubles as a warehouse holding wall mount and floor standing
cabinets, and an extensive range of patch panels [when ordered, the panels are
loaded in accordance with the Customer’s Specification]
The extra space also houses large multi-core fibre cable reels. This increase in
capacity enables Leader to offer shorter lead times for its unique swivel gland pre-terminated
cable coupled with a customer specified cut length service.
The introduction of the Copper Division has not diminished Leader’s design or
ability to investigate other applications to transmit light or modify light for non-telecommunications
applications. As a new opportunity arises Leader will look at
the potential to provide the interface between a fibre and an electronic component
and assist in the development of a new product in its UK based facility.
